Thanks to one of the woomeisters that linked to it today - I found the report that I was talking about back at the beginning of the forum. Here it is: www.dds.ca.gov/Autism/docs/AutismReport_2007.pdfI'm not sure what it means, but I was struck by the rising cognitive ability over time of those dx'd with ASD. To me that's indicative of lots of Aspergers and HFA - which would have never have been identified as Autistic before diagnostic expansion and widespread awareness. Also budget cuts in Education - and shifting attention and $$$ in SpEd to the ASD diagnosis. One of you really smart people will have to tell me if I know what I am talking about!

Did you also notice the shrinking numbers in the profound category?

I think this blog is what led me to the report in the first place. More interesting stuff, for sure.
