We are the merry band of woo-fighters. We, the few, the beleaguered, the snarky, have decided to stand. To stand against those who would peddle pseudoscience as science, woo-quackery as medicine, gut feelings as scientific evidence.
We come from all walks of life, with the common interest in basing the decisions in our lives, for our children, and for ourselves, on sound scientific principle. Emotions have their place, but an awareness of the foibles of the human mind and our tendency to find common and pervasive our own personal experiences and anecdote, our tendency to weigh risks with our gut and not our head, and to hear only what confirms what already believe, is our path through the darkness. Scientific principles and evidence, weighed critically, will help us to avoid falling victim to the availability heuristic, the affect heuristic, and confirmation bias. Adherence to science and avoidance of woo will lead us to the light, to sound decisions based on the evidence at hand.
We come together to offer support, to provide articles and evidence that will bolster our arguments, and to help each other to remember that group polarization occurs, so that we remain rational and grounded within science.
Oh yeah, and to let off steam and call an idjit an idjit and a moron a moron where it won’t hurt our cause.

And the primary source of the anti-vaccine hysteria, none other than that mom-scientist-playboycenterfold-carrey'swife-oprahpoopblogger-loonextrordinaire is Jenny McCarthy. As seen on PalMD's blog in the comment section: "Busily, dizzily, Jenny the vacciphobe Pure, quintessentially Vacuous twit,
Speaking her mind (which is Counter-intuitive), Proves beyond question, her Head's full of shit."

How excellent! It's always a comfort when someone else says the things one's thinking but doesn't want to say. That was done very cleverly.

You know, this isn't at all a bad place to plan "campaigns" from, such as comments to huffpo, etc...
Hmmm
